Getting Here
Christopher Newport University is located in the heart of Newport News, Virginia. We’re three hours south of Washington, D.C., 45 minutes from the Virginia Beach oceanfront, and 20 minutes east of historic Williamsburg.



If you’re flying to the area, you have several choices of airports. You can also get to Newport News by train or by bus. Parking is available throughout the campus. (view campus map)

  • Bear to your right on Avenue of the Arts.
  • Turn right out of the roundabout and into the University.

  • Take U.S. 66 East to Rt. 17 South to Fredericksburg.
  • I-95 South to I-295 South to I-64 East.
  • I-64 East to Exit 258-A, J. Clyde Morris Boulevard South (Rt. 17).
  • Continue straight and cross Warwick Boulevard.
  • The street becomes Avenue of the Arts (formerly Museum Drive).
  • Bear to your right on Avenue of the Arts.
  • Turn right out of the roundabout and into the University.

  • Take U.S. 58/460 East to I-664 North.
  • I-664 across the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel.
  • I-64 West to Exit 258-A, J. Clyde Morris Boulevard South (Rt. 17).

  • The street becomes Avenue of the Arts (formerly Museum Drive).
  • Bear to your right on Avenue of the Arts.
